Pierce named NBA Finals MVP: Celtics G Paul Pierce was named the MVP of the NBA Finals after Tuesday's Game 6 rout of the Lakers. Pierce had 17 points and 10 assists in the game and averaged 21.8 points, 6.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds in the Finals. (Updated 06/18/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Pierce played his first NBA season alongside two top NBA stars this year -- Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen -- and all three players saw a decline in scoring numbers, as expected. Now that they have to share the scoring load, there just isn't enough touches for Pierce to average 25.0 ppg as he did in 2006-07. He still managed to lead the team in scoring and remained a decent No. 1 forward, but Fantasy owners will have to temper expectations for all of the Boston Three Party members. (Updated 06/18/2008).
