The biggest asset Simmons brings to the Nets is that his contract expires in 2010 when there will be some big free agents on the market possibly (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh). After averaging 13.4 points in 2005-06, Simmons averaged 7.6 points during the 2007-08 regular season. He had started 74 games in each of his previous two seasons, but was not a regular starter last season. He started in just 21 games. He will likely have to split minutes with Yi Jianlian as well at small forward next season, making him a player to avoid drafting in most Fantasy formats.
