Butler arrested in Miami Beach: New Orleans Hornets guard Rasual Butler has been charged with flashing a loaded gun near a South Florida nightclub. A witness told investigators that Butler pulled out a gun near a South Beach club early Monday, according to a Miami Beach police report. Butler was sitting in an SUV when officers arrived and found a loaded gun in the vehicle. "We take these matters very seriously and we'll work with all appropriate authorities," Hornets general manager Jeff Bower said in a statement. (Updated 06/24/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Butler faces charges of carrying a concealed firearm and improperly displaying a firearm. He was released on $6,000 bond Monday afternoon, a Miami-Dade County Corrections Department spokeswoman said. Butler averaged a career-worst 4.9 points per game during the 2007-08 regular season. He appeared in 51 games and started only eight of them. As a starter, however, he did average 11.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He can be productive when given the playing time, but he just isn't in line for much of it in New Orleans. Fantasy owners need not draft him, but they should keep him in mind on occasions when he is due to see a good amount of minutes. (Updated 06/24/2008).
