Pistons forward Antonio McDyess was active for Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, but not in the starting lineup a day after he had surgery to repair a broken nose. McDyess wore a mask to protect the nose broken in the third quarter of Game 3. He returned to Detroit on Saturday for surgery to fix the nose and returned later that night. "I didn't go through all this yesterday not to play," McDyess said before Game 4. McDyess said he broke his four times, but never had it repaired until this time. "I did it three times, but never that bad," he said. (Updated 04/27/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
McDyess became a full-time starter this season for the first time since 2001 when he started all 78 games he played. He averaged 8.5 rebounds, his highest total since he averaged 12.0 in 2000-01, his last season as a starter. In 2008-09, it's possible he could return to a bench role if the Pistons find a center so that they can move Rasheed Wallace back to his customary power forward role. Track that situation in the offseason, but Fantasy owners should not expect anything more than what they got from McDyess this season even if he does retain a starting job. He'll be a late-round pick in Fantasy drafts. (Updated 04/27/2008).
McDyess had 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Pistons advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the sixth consecutive season with a 91-86 win over the Magic on Tuesday night. (Updated 05/13/2008)
Advice
Moved into the starting lineup for the last two games of the series as part of Detroit's adjustment to the absence of injured point guard Chauncey Billups, McDyess totaled 25 points and 25 rebounds while going 10-for-17 from the field.
