--Though four seasons built around Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady have failed to get the Rockets beyond the playoffs' first round, they plan no changes to the plan.
"What we're going to do is take a step back and evaluate where our roster is at and the decisions we have to make," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said. "One thing we know for sure: We will continue our strategy of building around Yao and Tracy."
With so much of the roster built around McGrady's playmaking ability, he would be difficult to replace. Due $43 million over the last two seasons of his contract, it might be impossible to get back anything comparable to what he brings when healthy. The Rockets, however, don't appear interested in trying, anyway.
--After a long and occasional contentious negotiation last summer, second-round pick Carl Landry signed a non-guaranteed, one-year contract that will send him to another offseason of contract negotiations.
He had a strong rookie season, was the hero of Game 3 for his game-saving blocked shot and became a clear part of the Rockets' plans. General manager Daryl Morey said he would match any offer Landry, a restricted free agent, receives.
Either way, this summer's contract talks should be anything but contentious.
"This is where I want to be," Landry said. "I love Houston. It's not my decision. It's the Rockets' decision. Both sides have to agree. But I love Houston. This is home. I hope to be back next year."
QUOTE TO NOTE "I thought we never had a bunch of guys who played harder, even the championship teams. They never played harder than these guys. Unfortunately, we had no point guard in the second half (Rafer Alston went out with a sprained right ankle) and we didn't have our center (Yao Ming) in the series. I don't want to cry, but I'm crying." -- Leslie Alexander

Does anyone think now that the Bobby Jackson trade was a mistake? He stunk it up in the playoffs. I think he had 1 good game out of the 6. I believe Bonzi Wells and Mike Jame
Am I the only one that thinks they need to work Steve Novak into the lineup a little more next year. I know he doesn't play great defense but man everytime he comes in he hits 3's. He reminds me so much of Matt Bullard back in the day when we won the championship. He would come in and hit a couple three's and fire everyone up w

I can see that sman1965 bothers almost every team on their message board. While trash talking is fun, just seeing this guys posts makes me fell like I am back in the 3rd grade.
I am proposing a boycott of any thread he starts, and to any posts he makes on other threads as well...
Maybe he will start to talk smart sports conversation or maybe he will jus
I know many of you will disagree with me but last nights win was a prime example of why McGrady isnt a dependable star player. With the Rockets up by only a few points and the ball in their possession McGrady gets bumped hard by Kirolinko(sp) away from the ball. It being a very very crucial possession you would think he would p

While this game right here tonight is going to be a tough one espically at there house but if we have dont it before we can do it again twice to be excact. The Rockets are serious and they mean buisness and they showed that in the last game my killing the Jazz. Here is why
No Yao, 22 straight, and a trip to the playoffs.....Rick Adelman was a lock for coach of the year, but they gave it to the "feel-good" New Orleans story.
I think you guys are gonna win the next two and take the series....just a hunch.
So, hopefully a bunch of Jazz fans don't crucify me for this thread but how many of yall think that the Rockets are going to win this series, because I do.
I felt this was going to 7 before it started, after the 2 losses without
22 wins in a row and a playoff birth but in the end injuries finally took their toll. In the end Alston was out for 2.5 games of the series and Yao was out, T-Mac was beaten up and Shane Battier had a bad foot. Not to mention Carl Landry
