Tell Pete your opinion!

Pete Prisco ranks the top five offensive prospects at each position.

Top Prospects: Quarterbacks
1. Brian Brohm, Louisville
Agility Tests:
40-yard dash: 4.79 Bench press: 300 lbs Vertical jump: 26.5"
The skinny: Why teams have knocked him down their boards is a mystery. He outplayed Matt Ryan last year and he's had a better career. He will be the best of this group. I've stuck to my conviction on this one throughout the draft process, and there's no changing it.
2. Chad Henne, Michigan
Agility Tests:
40-yard dash: 4.76 Bench press: 310 Vertical jump: 32"
The skinny: Scouts rave about how he carved up Florida in Michigan's bowl victory. He has command of the offense. I'm higher on him than most.
3. Matt Ryan, Boston College
Agility Tests:
40-yard dash: 4.79 Bench press: 255 lbs Vertical jump: 29"
The skinny: He played without top weapons in college, which hurt. But he struggled in some games, especially against speed teams, and that's a concern.
4. Joe Flacco, Delaware
Agility Tests:
40-yard dash: 5.06 Bench press: 265 lbs Vertical jump: 32.5"
The skinny: He's a strong-armed passer who has skills that make scouts drool. My concern would be why he ran away from trying to beat out Tyler Palko at Pittsburgh before he transferred.
5. John David Booty, USC
Agility Tests:
40-yard dash: 4.97 Bench press: 300 lbs Vertical jump: 28"
The skinny: He might never be a star, but he will be a quality backup who might take over as a starter in a couple of years. He plays smart and he's got a good-enough arm.
Player on the rise:
Brohm. Teams have gone back and done the work, and now he's possibly moving back into the first round. Smart move.
Player on the decline:
Josh Johnson, San Diego. After his impressive senior season, teams wanted to like him. Some speculated he could be a first-day pick. After evaluating his talents, they were disappointed. He'll go late on Day 2.
Sleeper
Ricky Santos, New Hampshire. He isn't a big guy nor does he have a big arm, but he might be a fit as a backup in a West Coast offense.
Overrated
Ryan. He isn't the franchise passer that some would make you think.
Position analysis:
There might not be a franchise star like a Peyton Manning in this group, but the top three are all good players. They all should be NFL starters, one or two of them stars. Most scouts like Ryan the best, but I prefer the other two. After those three, Flacco is intriguing because of his arm, and there are a handful of others who had success on the college level. There's Booty, Kentucky's Andre Woodson and Tennessee's Erik Ainge. They all put up big passing numbers as college players. I like this quarterback group more than most.

Hey... the Bengals deserve a break with the malcontent "85"... Sedrick Ellis is a future ALL-PRO and is perfect to improve the "D" in the 'Natti...

For Carson Palmer's sake.... Bengals TAKE Sedrick if he is there at #9!!!!

Brennan against Washington:  42 out of 50 for 442 yard with 5 TDs and no ints.  I don't care a what level you are playing, those are difficult stats to put up.  He did that fairly regularly.  The game before was not as good.  He played Boise St. and went 40 out of 53 for 495 yards, 5 TDs, 2 ints, and he also ran for one TD.  This guy could be a real 6th round steal.&n ...(more)

(POLL) With about 53 days until this years NFL draft, and the building hype that surrounds that day, I am reminded of past drafts and what might have been.  Who is the biggest bust in NFL draft history?  I have listed a few top candidates.  I'm sure that there are more.  I'd like to hear what others think.  This should get us ready for the 2008 addition to the list.

Why, why, why!  There are so many others spots you need to fill.  Jonathan Stewart is good, but not good enough to give up needed picks.
