Bush is a player that everyone has been screaming about all season, and it's clear that he is an elite talent. He has good height for a running back and, while he is thinner than ideal for his height, within a season or two he will naturally add 10 pounds or so as all players do when they mature in their early 20s. Bush is similar to Marshall Faulk when he was a San Diego State star and he will be best utilized in the same type of role that Faulk has had in St. Louis. He is not going to be a running back in the NFL who gets 30-plus carries a game, but will eventually be able to handle 15-20 carries, 4-8 catches and return punts. Overall, Bush is going to make an immediate impact in the NFL with his ability to make game-changing plays once he is in the open field. While many people say you cannot risk using Bush as a returner, he is the type of returner who can change games and singlehandedly win the field position battle for his team.

STRONG POINTS
Bush is a remarkable athlete with the vision and instincts to take advantage of his athleticism. Once he sees the hole, he has shown the ability to stick a foot in the ground and can explode off his cut and through the hole in a flash. He gets behind the defense very fast and has the playing speed to outrun the angles to take plays the distance. He is a dangerous receiver out of the backfield and consistently has shown the ability to make great catches and then makes big plays running in the open field. He runs tougher than you expect between the tackles. He Will lower his shoulder and deliver a blow to the tackler. He is a very dangerous returner whose quickness, elusiveness and playing speed make him a touchdown threat on every return.
WEAKNESSES
Bush is a little thinner than ideal for his height and lacks the size and strength to break tackles consistently in the NFL. He carries the ball too loosely and does not get it into his outside arm consistently. If he is this nonchalant with the ball in the NFL, he will fumble. He is not a consistent pass blocker and often gives just an adequate effort and his man pressures the quarterback.

Section Grade: 8.0
Bush is a tremendous natural athlete with the ability to score from anywhere on the field every time he touches the ball. His tremendous foot quickness combines with his agility to let him make the super-quick cut. COMPETITIVENESS
Section Grade: 7.5
Bush is a very tough football player who runs much harder and more aggressive than you expect and consistently has stayed in the lineup as both a runner, receiver and returner despite handling the ball a lot. He may not have gotten 20-plus carries as a back, but he caught a lot of passes and returned a ton of balls. The only thing that limited his production on clutch plays was that USC had so many other weapons, but in nearly every big game, he found a way to make big plays and consistently set the offense up on a short field with his return ability. His overall production was excellent when you look at how many yards he gained in all aspects of the game. Even though he did not get a ton of carries, he consistently dominated games. When USC needed someone to step up and make the big play, Bush consistently showed a knack for stepping up and changing the game. He was super consistent in all aspects of the game -- even his penchant for carrying the ball loosely and not always carrying it in the outside arm. He is without question a team player and it is clear when you see him still returning punts and kickoffs despite being a premier running back. Most elite players ask off return duty and Bush not only continued to do it, but he excelled doing it. He is a highly competitive runner who consistently gives a great effort every time he touches the ball and never stops fighting for extra yards until he is on the ground.

MENTAL ALERTNESS
Section Grade: 7.0
Bush has to be a smart young man to line up all over the place like he does without making mental errors. He has rare instincts and vision and can take advantage of them with his tremendous natural athleticism. When he sees the hole, he can plant a foot and explode through the hole and is off to the races. His instincts also show up in his pass protection. He knows whom to pick up, but he does not always step up and pass block aggressively. In order for Bush to consistently play at such a high level and make big plays in every game, he has to play with excellent concentration on every snap.

STRENGTH/EXPLOSION
Section Grade: 6.5
Bush has good height for a back at over 5-11, but is a little thinner than ideal at that height at only 200. He looks thinner than his listed weight. He has been a very durable player at USC and, while he has only a few games during his career with 20-plus carries, he has consistently stayed healthy despite getting a lot of touches every game -- he may not have had 20-plus carries often, but his carries, catches and returns usually were well over 20. He has rare explosiveness for a running back. Once he sees the hole, he explodes through it and gets behind the defense before the defense can even react. While he is not the powerful runner who will run over defenders, he consistently keeps his feet vs. hits and slips out of tackles to gain yards after contact. Additionally, his elusiveness allows him to consistently slip and dip and rarely takes hard hits.
