Boss now starting TE: The New Orleans Saints have acquired disgruntled New York Giants TE Jeremy Shockey for two draft picks. Saints spokesman Greg Bensel on Monday confirmed the trade. The Giants said they will get second- and fifth-round picks in the 2009 draft. The deal must be approved by the league and is contingent on Shockey passing a physical. With Shockey gone, Kevin Boss will be the starter for the Giants. (Updated 07/21/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Boss played well when Shockey went down at the end of the regular season. Seeing regular playing time in place of Shockey, who was lost for the season after Week 14, Boss totaled 118 yards on nine catches (13.1 avg.) with two touchdowns, then posted 90 yards on five catches, including a 45-yard reception in Super Bowl XLII, in the Giants' four postseason games. It's safe to draft Boss as a low-end No. 1 option now that Shockey is gone. (Updated 07/21/2008).
TE Kevin Boss became the unquestioned starter when Jeremy Shockey was traded to the Saints. Boss started the final six games as a rookie after Shockey was hurt, including all four playoff games. Vying for the backup spots behind Boss will be Michael Matthews, Darcy Johnson, Jerome Collins and rookie Eric Butler. 07/21/2008
