Report: Jordan visits Lions: ESPN reports that Raiders RB LaMont Jordan recently visited with the Lions, part of what might be a pre-trade arrangement between Oakland and Detroit. The Lions would need to pony up a late draft pick for Jordan and also renegotiate his contract before any final deal is done. (Updated 07/10/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
The Raiders have made no secret about trying to trade Jordan, and landing in Detroit would be a honey of a spot for the veteran bulldozer. In Detroit, Jordan could conceivably compete for the starting job with rookie Kevin Smith and veteran Tatum Bell. At the very least, he'd be a candidate for short-yardage/goal-line duty and also add some much-needed depth. Other potential suitors for Jordan are the Bears, Patriots and Saints, all of whom would use Jordan in a role that would give him some semblance of Fantasy value. It would be a sneaky move, but he'll be there with a late-round pick in all drafts this summer, so don't hesitate to get him as a low-risk, medium-reward Fantasy rusher. When more news develops, we'll bring it to you. (Updated 07/10/2008).
