Batch to IR; Leftwich backup QB: The Steelers have decided to place backup QB Charlie Batch on Injured Reserve with a broken collarbone, ending his season, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. That means that veteran passer Byron Leftwich will have a job this year as the backup quarterback to Ben Roethlisberger.

Leftwich is someone you can pick up off the waiver wire later on this year if necessary.
