Colts report: Notes, quotes
--Indianapolis officials are awaiting word on if the city will be the host of the Super Bowl in 2012. NFL owners were recently presented with the city's proposal by junior high school students from around central and western Indiana. A decision from the owners is expected early next week. --The Colts are scheduled to conduct a three-day, five-practice mandatory minicamp at the team's Indianapolis headquarters. While the camp - which begins Friday and ends Sunday -- will be for both veterans and rookies, a few veterans may not take part in the workouts due to medical reasons. WR Marvin Harrison (knees) and DE Dwight Freeney (foot) were not expected to participate in the practices as they continue to rehab injuries. "(Harrison) would be here participating if that's what the trainers and medical people and Tony (Dungy) want him to do," owner Jim Irsay said. --Tony Dungy recently spoke at a Tampa, Fla., high school where he was asked when he would be returning to the city for good. "I'm looking forward to try and win one more Super Bowl before I do that," Dungy said. He was also asked if anything had happened since he wrote his best-selling book that he would like to include now. "We talk about how important it is to do things the right way and have integrity so that when you do win, people can never ask that question," he said. "That's the great thing that I'm happy about with our team. "Yes, we won (Super Bowl XLI). But no one is really going to ask, 'Did they cheat? Did they do things the right way?' I think our record speaks for itself and if you're a true champion, that's the way you'd like it to be." --Indianapolis' 2008 "Make it Personal Tour" will be honoring the 25th year of Indianapolis Colts football this summer with visits to 16 Indiana cities this spring and summer. The tour will include visits with Colts' players and cheerleaders, an opportunity to register for tickets to a preseason game at Lucas Oil Stadium. "We provide hundreds of free events for our fans every year. The Make It Personal Tour is our way of giving back to our fans and to thank them for their continued support. We want our fans all across the state to be able to touch the Colts franchise in their own backyards," said Tom Zupancic, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Indianapolis Colts.
