Andrew Ebbett, 25, will play his first NHL game Friday night against the St. Louis Blues at the Honda Center, Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said after the clubs morning skate. Recalled Thursday from the American Hockey League affiliate in Portland, Maine, after Ryan Carter suffered a broken wrist and Todd Marchant a bruised shoulder the night before, Ebbett figures to skate on the second line alongside right wing Teemu Selanne and either Chris Kunitz or Todd Bertuzzi on left wing. "To take the best offensive player from your American Hockey League team and to play him on your fourth line or your energy line, to me thats crazy," Carlyle said. "You bring young guys up and try to give them an opportunity to have success - put them in situations where they have the best chance for success." (Updated 02/22/2008).
