Ersberg re-signs for one year: The Kings re-signed restricted free agent forward Gabe Gauthier to a two-year contract, goaltender Erik Ersberg to a one-year contract, forward Matt Moulson to a one-year contract and defenseman Joe Piskula to a one-year contract Wednesday. Terms of the agreements were not announced. (Updated 07/18/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Ersberg played in 14 games with the Kings in 2007-08 and posted a 6-5-3 record, a team-leading 2.48 GAA, .927 save percentage and two shutouts. He was the first Kings rookie since 2003-04 to post multiple shutouts in one season (joining Cristobal Huet). Ersberg will likely open the season as Los Angeles' backup goalie to Jason LaBarbera, but both goalies might be passed up by rookie Jonathan Bernier as L.A. builds for the future. Ersberg has little Fantasy value outside of leagues that use average points per game. (Updated 07/18/2008).
