Savard misses final seven games: Bruins C Marc Savard was not active for Saturday's regular-season finale against the Sabres because of a back injury. He missed the last seven games of the 2007-08 season and remains questionable for the start of the playoffs. Boston will be either the seventh or eighth seed. "Its been an uncomfortable injury, thats for sure," Savard told the Boston Herald. "I have no idea what the timetable is, really. I skated for five minutes (Friday) and about 20 (Saturday). Were taking it one step at a time. This week Ill be practicing with the team at some point, and then well have to go from there. Hopefully, its Game 1 (of the playoffs) that I can play." (Updated 04/06/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
There is little doubt in anyone's mind that if the Bruins want to pull a first-round upset, they will need a healthy Savard. He is the team's top playmaker and that was evident by his 63 assists. He now has 60-plus assists for a third straight season, but failed to make it 90-plus points for three straight seasons because of the back injury. Savard should be ready to go by training camp and remains a high-end Fantasy forward on Draft Day 2008. This injury is not career threatening. (Updated 04/06/2008).
