Torres sent to Columbus for Brule: In need of veteran players, the Columbus Blue Jackets acquired LW Raffi Torres from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for promising center Gilbert Brule on Tuesday. The trade was confirmed by both teams shortly before the noon deadline for free-agent signings. (Updated 07/01/2008).
Injury Report
Knee - Questionable for start of training camp (Updated - 5/10/08)
Fantasy Analysis
The 26-year-old Torres played just 32 games last year for the Oilers after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a game in December. He has 67 goals and 59 assists in 307 career games. He might well miss the start of the season and should probably be ignored in the majority of drafts this summer. The 21-year-old Brule had one goal and eight assists in 61 games a year ago while trying to find himself in his second year in the NHL. He has been a disappointment so far in his young NHL career, but maybe a move to Canada will do his career some good. Keep hold of him in all dynasty formats, but don't reach for him until the late rounds in drafts, if at all. (Updated 07/01/2008).
