Gomez makes speedy recovery: Quick-healing forward Scott Gomez made an early return to the New York Rangers lineup on Thursday against his former New Jersey Devils teammates. Gomez injured his ribs on Friday night when he crashed into the boards during a game at Philadelphia. He was forced to sit out Tuesday at home when the Rangers lost to the Flyers 2-1 in overtime, and was expected to miss at least one more game. The playmaking center skated on his own Wednesday at practice and then joined the Rangers for the pregame warmup before New York took on the Devils. (Updated 03/27/2008).

He didn't waste any time getting back into action as he picked up two assists in a 3-2 win against his former mates. It was his first assists in nine games. Gomez has 53 assists with the Rangers, but has had a rocky first season in New York. He is still worth using as a high-end Fantasy forward when healthy, but is more of a No. 2 option these days.
