Holmqvist can't contain excitement: Johan Holmqvist struggled in his first start for the Stars Saturday against the Canucks since he was acquired along with Brad Richards in a five-player trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb. 26. Holmqvist sat out seven games with the Stars as the backup to No. 1 goalie Marty Turco, but gave up three goals on 12 shots to the Canucks before he was pulled to start the second period. "Maybe I was a little too excited," Holmqvist said. "But no excuses. I'm disappointed. It was a big night for me, and I let the team down." Turco allowed just one goal on 18 shots the rest of the game and took the loss as Vancouver won 4-3. (Updated 03/16/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Holmqvist hadn't appeared in net since Feb. 23 against the Bruins, so it's easy to see how he was a little rusty Saturday. He didn't do a very good job impressing management and will remain Turco's backup in Dallas. He is merely a flier in leagues that average points per game. The Stars TG is a No. 1 Fantasy option thanks to Turco. (Updated 03/16/2008).
