Crombeen knocking on NHL door: The Stars signed right wing B.J. Crombeen to a one-year, two-way contract Wednesday that would pay him $550,000 for the 2008-09 campaign at the NHL level. "B.J. has been with us for a number of years now and has flourished through our development process," Stars Co-GM Les Jackson told NHL.com. "He has gained some really valuable experience and his game is to the point where he is ready to take the next step. He is knocking on the door of the NHL." (Updated 07/03/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Crombeen, 22, appeared in eight regular season games with Dallas last season, notching two assists and 39 penalty minutes, and he went scoreless in five Stanley Cup Playoff games. He skated in 65 games with the AHL Iowa Stars, earning 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists) and a team-high 158 PIM. Crombeen was a second round pick in 2003. Crombeen could develop into a decent Fantasy option at some point since he is still young, but until that happens, he has little to no Fantasy value. (Updated 07/03/2008).
