Sid the Kid scratched from finale: Penguins center Sidney Crosby was scratched from Sunday's season finale against the Flyers with Pittsburgh playing for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Coach Michel Terrien decided to give Crosby the game off, likely as a precautionary measure after their captain missed 28 games with a sprained right ankle. Crosby finished the season with 24 goals and 72 points in 53 games. The Atlantic Division champion Penguins could earn the top spot in the East with a win over the Flyers. The Flyers would be the No. 6 seed with a win. (Updated 04/06/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
The Penguins have been playing such great hockey without Crosby the last few months, they felt they could still win without him Sunday. Smart move by the Penguins since a healthy Crosby is far more valuable in a quest for the Stanley Cup. However, this injury has been problematic for Fantasy owners, a majority who spent the No. 1 overall pick on the third-year forward on Draft Day. The good news is that Crosby should be back at 100 percent come training camp. Despite missing plenty of time in 2007-08, Crosby will likely be the top rated Fantasy forward heading into 2008-09. He has 294 points in 213 career games. Enough said. (Updated 04/06/2008).
