St. John's basketball coach Norm Roberts, looking to rebound from last season's 11-19 record (5-13 in the Big East), has signed a pair of guards.
Point guard Tyshwan Edmondson of Hopkinsville, Ky., signed yesterday, following combo guard Quincy Roberts of Harrisburg, Pa.
Edmondson (6-foot-4, 175) chose St. John's over Western Kentucky and Dayton. He averaged 18.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals.
Roberts (6-5, 190) averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. He chose St. John's over Nebraska, Temple and Virginia.
