FINAL RECORD
20-11, 11-7, first in Sun Belt West
WHAT WENT RIGHT
The Trojans bounced back from two losing seasons by developing a tough, defensive-minded identity and overcame some late-season struggles to finish strong, win the West and reach the conference tournament semifinals.
WHAT WENT WRONG
The Trojans never developed a true go-to scorer or enough offensive consistency to carry them through the tough spots.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"We knew coming in that this would be a difficult, hard-fought, physical game. UALR is as good as anyone we've played all year -- and we've played a pretty competitive schedule -- about getting after you defensively. I thought our guys did a really nice job of handling that." -- Western Kentucky coach Darrin Horn, after the third-seeded Hilltoppers beat second-seeded UALR 70-55 in the semifinals of the Sun Belt tournament.
