FINAL RECORD
19-14, 12-6 MAAC, T-3, the 4th seed in the league tournament, went 1-1 and was eliminated by Siena.
WHAT WENT RIGHT
The Greyhounds won five of their last six regular-season games and then disposed of Fairfield for the second straight year in the MAAC tournament. They came within seconds of beating eventual league champion Siena in the final game.
WHAT WENT WRONG
When you get that close to the title game, you want it, and the Greyhounds were that close. A February home loss to Niagara hurt in the long run. Loyola had beaten Siena twice in the regular season before falling in the MAAC tourney.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"We will never forget Gerald Brown. We would have never been here without him. He picked Loyola. He could have gone anywhere in Baltimore or Maryland." -- Loyola coach Jimmy Patsos, on the two years he got out of Brown after the guard transferred from Providence.
