FINAL RECORD
7-23, 3-13, tied for eighth in America East

WHAT WENT RIGHT
Guard/forward Mark Socoby emerged as a future star. The 6-6 sophomore led Maine in scoring (14.6) and rebounding (5.7). Junior guard Kaimondre Owes, who became eligible after the first semester, developed into a nice complementary scorer (12.5).

WHAT WENT WRONG
Turnovers plagued Maine all season. The Black Bears committed nearly 19 per game, and no other team in the conference averaged more than 15. The ankle injury to point guard Junior Bernal was impossible to overcome.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We counted on him as a guy that could be a leader for our team this year. For him to jump up [from 6.9 points] over 14 points a game and have some really big nights, putting us on his back, even though other people knew he was kind of our go-to guy, speaks volumes about where he's gone in the last year and to where he's going." -- Coach Ted Woodward to the Bangor Daily News about Mark Socoby, who earned a spot on the All-America East third team.
