Hawks report: Notes, quotes
--Monmouth lost three of its last four, but it still got into the NEC tournament as the No. 8 seed. --The Hawks beat Saint Francis (Pa.) in the next-to-last game of the season and then needed the Red Flash to lose the finale, which it did. --Monmouth face top-seeded Robert Morris, hoping to become the first No. 8 seed to beat a No. 1 in NEC tournament play. --The Hawks lost twice to the Colonials this year, by 15 at RMU and by just one on New Jersey. --Monmouth is probably still playing because it beat Saint Francis (Pa.) twice. --The Hawks broke a seven-game home losing streak with the vital win over Saint Francis before losing at Mount St. Mary's in the finale. The win gave Monmouth a 1-8 home record in the conference. --The Hawks have made the NEC tournament in nine of Dave Calloway's 11 seasons as the head coach.
