MEDICAL WATCH:

C Victor Martinez (stiff neck) missed the May 6 game, and he returned as a DH on May 7. He sat out again May 8.

RHP Jake Westbrook (strained left intercostal muscle) went on the 15-day disabled list April 22. He received a cortisone shot in late April, and he is likely to be out until late May.

RHP Joe Borowski (strained right triceps) went on the 15-day disabled list April 15, and he might miss up to four weeks. He threw his first bullpen session May 8.

OF Shin-Soo Choo (Tommy John surgery in September 2007) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list. He continued playing in extended spring training in mid-April.
