Ben at Work: New shows for NBA TV's fall season!

As far as compelling TV goes, you can't beat the NBA Draft. It has youngsters in silly suits, awkward half-English interviews, endless amounts of hope and lots and lots of booing. And that's just the Knicks!

So in keeping with the must-see TV theme, here's a look at some of the new shows that will be hitting NBA TV's fall lineup this season. Some are remakes of old favorites, some are revamped versions of today's hits, and all of them star the key players from Thursday's draft.

So get your DVRs and TiVos ready. This fall, NBA TV is where Emmy Award winning entertainment happens!

Chicago Hope: Let's Try This Again

A young surgeon (Derrick Rose) becomes the latest in a long line of doctors asked to return a broken down Chicago hospital to its glory days of the '90s.

A Different World 2008

Youngster Mikey (Michael Beasley) heads to Miami to learn the ropes from Professor Pat Riley and a wacky cast of characters, including space cadet Whitley (Shawn Marion), and big man on campus Dwayne Wayne (Dwyane Wade).

O.J. Mayo Goes to College

After reading an interview in which her son describes his favorite college class as such: "I enjoyed this media class. I forget what it was called. About entertainers and the media," the mother of an NBA rookie forces her son to attend college while playing in the pros. Hijinks ensue.

Major League: The Series

A ragtag NBA franchise in Seattle tries to win it all for their dedicated home fans, while the team's scummy new owners hope the team loses enough games to be relocated to Oklahoma City. Starring Kevin Durant as Rodney "Wild Thing" Vaughn, Russell Westbrook as "Great Nate Archiballs," and Johan Petro as "Pierre Cerrano."

Love Connection

Kevin Love hosts this game show, in which he makes court-length passes to a group of Minneapolis women. The one who catches the ball then spins a wheel to find out her fate. Does she get to date Kevin Love? Trim his beard? Take him to the Big & Tall shop in the Mall of America? Tune in to find out.

Gallinari

Observational comic Danilo Gallinari (Danilo Gallinari) brings us this New York based show about nothing ... nothing but laughs! Get Danilo's funny takes on his new city and his wacky friends: jittery, crazy-haired neighbor Balkman (Renaldo Balkman), neurotic Nate (Nate Robinson) and curly-haired ex-girlfriend Elaine (David Lee).

Survivor: Los Angeles

Forget world or conference championships, the Clippers have never even won their division. Can Eric Gordon bring them over the hump? Can he make Hollywood stars care about the Clippers? Or, like many others, will he end up eating bugs, losing weight and eventually leaving Clipperland a shell of his former self?

Top Chef Charlotte

There are too many cooks and not nearly enough sous chefs in the Top Chef Charlotte kitchen. Will anyone take a backseat for the sake of the team? Or will everyone need to pack their knives and go before the Bobcats ever make the playoffs?

Which player will have the best NBA TV show?

Really Tall Perfect Strangers

Without his twin brother Robin for the first time in his life, Brook (Brook Lopez) needs a new 7-foot-tall roommate for his custom-made bunk bed. Enter new New Jerseyan Yi (Yi Jianlian). The laughs keep coming as the boys dress like zombies to dance to Michael Jackson's Thriller, try every one of the 378,098 Chinese restaurants in New Jersey and cuddle through numerous viewings of Bambi.

T.J's Anatomy

Indianapolis-based medical drama focusing on an oft-injured basketball star who recently moved to the area.

Jermaine's Anatomy

Toronto-based medical drama focusing on an oft-injured basketball star who recently moved to the area.

NBA Deal or No Deal

Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard gives fellow GMs the choice of one of his players, or a mystery draft pick. A fun show, but might get old pretty quickly considering how often Pritchard winds up on the winning end of his deals.
