2004 Player Info
Federer capped an amazing season with a second consecutive Tennis Masters Cup title in Houston, Texas. He finished 2004 atop the INDESIT ATP 2004 Race and the ATP entry system. He also won 11 tournaments including three Grand Slam titles and three ATP Masters Series titles this year, for a career total of 21.

He was assured to win the INDESIT ATP 2004 Race on September 14, marking what is believed to be the earliest a player has locked up the year-end No. 1 position since the ATP Rankings were established in 1973.

He has won the last 13 finals he played. Only two players – Bjorn Borg (1979-80) and John McEnroe (1984-85) – had won 12 consecutive finals in the past 25 years.

No one had ever won his first four Grand Slam finals before him. No one had won three Grand Slam titles in one year since Sweden's Mats Wilander in 1988.

His winning streak on grass is now 24 matches. He hasn't lost a match on grass since losing to Mario Ancic in the first round of Wimbledon in 2002. Bjorn Borg won 41 consecutive matches on grass, the record during the Open era, from 1976 to 1981.

He's playing on Tour without a coach or a trainer and has no plans to find one as long as he keeps winning.
