CHARLOTTE (AAA) (70-73) 3rd place (-9.5)
Leading hitter was Brian Daubach who batted .316 with a club-leading 157 hits, led the
International League with 45 doubles, 35 homers and 124 RBI. He also led league with .634
slugging percentage and 84 extra-base hits. Daubach finished sixth in the batting race.
Luis Castillo finished third in the League with 41 steals. RHP Ryan Hawblitzel (8-5) led
the club in victories. Donn Pall led the club with 14 saves. *Overall, LHP Ed Yarnall
finished with 13 wins, 9 at AA and 4 at AAA.
PORTLAND (AA) (66-75) 4th place (-16.5)
Jaime Jones led in batting with a .281 average. Nate Roilson led with 16 HR's and 83 RBI.
Amaury Garcia led the team with 23 stolen bases. LHP Michael Tejera (9-5) led the starters
in wins while Geoff Duncan finished 9-2 with 11 saves in relief. Mick Pageler led team
with 13 saves. LHP Brent Billingsley led the Eastern League with 183 K's in 171.0 IP.
In addition, Tejera was 6-1 at Kane County to finish with an organizational high 15 wins.
BREVARD COUNTY (A) (43-97) 6th place (-15.0)
Jon Heinrichs led the club with .285 average and 64 RBI. Julio Ramirez led the team with
13 homers and finished second in the Florida State League with 71 stolen bases. RHP Aaron
Cames finished second in the league with 161 strikeouts.
KANE COUNTY (A) (33-35) 3rd place (-6.0):
Matt Erickson finished third in the Midwest League with a .324 average and led the league
with a .436 on-base percentage. Ross Gload led the team with 12 HR's and 92 RBI and led
the entire league with 41 doubles. Quincy Foster led the league and the Marlins'
organization with 73 stolen bases. A.J. Burnett and Scott Henderson each had ten wins.
Burnett led the club and finished third in the league with 186 K's in 119.0 IP. Hector
Almonte recorded 21 saves.
UTICA (Short A) (35-41) 5th place (-11.0):
OF Randy Rigsby led the team with a .302 (54x179) batting average. C Matt Frick led the
team with seven homers. RHP Steve Gagliano (6-4) and Matt Pidgeon (6-5) led the team in
wins while RHP Scott Clackum recorded a team-high ten saves.
GULF COAST (Rookie) (38-22) 1st place (+5.0):
The Marlins closed out their season with a loss to the Devil Rays in the first round of
the playoffs. The GCL Fish finished the regular season in first place, 5.0 games ahead of
the Expos. OF Brian Reed led the League with 40 stolen bases. RHP Wes Anderson led the
League with a 1.39 ERA and Bill Villanueva finished third with a 1.88 ERA. Drew Shields
led club and was second in the League with seven wins.
