Final 2000-2001 RPI Rankings

The NCAA's Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) is one of the important factors in determining at-large selections and seeding for the NCAA Tournament. It measures teams' strength of schedule and how well teams fare against that schedule. Its formula is also a closely guarded secret.

But thanks to SportsLine's Ratings Guru Jerry P. Palm, we've been able to come up with one of the most accurate replications of the RPI available today. Jerry Palm's reputation for accuracy was cemented during college football season, as he routinely projected the Bowl Championship Series rankings before they were announced.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the college basketball season -- and daily as tournament time approaches -- SportsLine will present a complete RPI for all Division I teams and conferences.

For more information on the RPI or why it seems some teams have incorrect records, check out the FAQ.
