Much-traveled kicker Cary Blanchard can add another travel sticker to his luggage. SportsLine has learned that the Arizona Cardinals on Monday afternoon reached agreement with Blanchard, a seven-year veteran who spent most of the 1999 season with the New York Giants.

Blanchard, 31, will sign a two-year contract but financial details were not immediately available. He will replace incumbent Chris Jacke, an unrestricted free agent the Cardinals decided they would not attempt to re-sign. The club does not anticipate bringing in any other placement specialists to challenge Blanchard.

This will be Blanchard's fifth team. He began his NFL career with the New York Jets and has also kicked for Indianapolis and Washington, in addition to last year with the Giants. In 94 games, he's converted 149 of 191 field goal attempts and 170 of 171 PATs for a total of 617 points. His best season came in 1996, when he hit 36 of 40 field goal tries for the Colts and led the AFC with 135 points.

He was released last summer by the Redskins, losing his job to youngster Brett Conway, then signed with the Giants in October after kicker Brad Daluiso was lost for the season to a severe knee injury. In 10 games, Blanchard made 18 of 21 field goals and all 19 extra points for a team-high 73 points.
