Western Michigan hires McCullum as coach

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Illinois assistant Robert McCullum was hired as
Western Michigan's basketball coach Wednesday.

| | | McCullum replaces Bob Donewald, who coached for 11 years before being
assigned this month to special assistant to the athletic director. Donewald had
a 151-155 record with the Broncos.
McCullum spent four years at Illinois. Before that, he was an assistant at
Florida, Kansas State, Southern Illinois, South Alabama and Samford.
