Charleston Southern hires Platt

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Jim Platt, the former Arkansas-Little Rock basketball coach, took over the Charleston Southern program Wednesday.
Platt, 49, who spent the past three years as an assistant at Florida State, replaces Tom Conrad, whose contract was not renewed after an 8-21 season.

| | | Platt was 56-69 at Arkansas-Little Rock from 1990-94. The former Concordia (Ill.) College player also worked as an assistant at Illinois State, DePaul and Tulsa.
