Second round
30. Chicago -- Trenton Hassell, SG, Austin Peay -- Last year's Ohio Valley Conference player of the year has great potential, combining splendid athleticism with a knack for getting to the rim.
31. Golden State -- Gilbert Arenas, SG, Arizona -- Superb scorer slips to second round due to his lack of height. He could develop into a Vinnie Johnson-type off the bench.
32. Orlando -- Omar Cook, PG, St. John's-- This selection will end up going to Denver, which will consider this a first-round pick, waiving a prior commitment of Orlando's in a future draft. He's a terrific floor general who will develop as a backup to Nick Van Exel.
33. Vancouver -- Will Solomon, PG, Clemson -- Came out of school early and will be in a favorable position to make a team with first-round pick Jamaal Tinsley dealt. He'll have to learn the point guard position on the run.
34. Atlanta -- Terence Morris, SF, Maryland -- Morris fizzled out during his junior and senior years, seeing his stock crash. He has all the raw skills in the world, but can't seem to put it together; traded to Houston for a future first round pick; Tomjanovich is a big Morris fan.
35. New Jersey -- Brian Scalabrine, PF, USC -- Big body with a nice outside touch. He proved his toughness in pre-draft camps and will help out early, especially if Jamie Feick is unable to play next year.
36. Cleveland -- Jeff Trepagnier, SG, USC -- Incredible leaper could develop into a defensive stopper in the NBA. Still raw offensively, but his athleticism should help him make the club.
37. Philadelphia -- Damone Brown, SF, Syracuse -- Brown bloomed late in his collegiate career, but became a vital cog for the Orangemen. He's great on the offensive boards, but needs to put on weight.
38. Detroit -- Mehmet Okur, PF, Efes Pilsen (Turkey) -- Okur played for Turkey's top team and displays a physical style that belies most European players.
39. New York -- Michael Wright, PF, Arizona -- Smallish forward who gets by on his tremendous heart; had a lot of his shots blocked in Chicago's pre-draft camp.
40. Seattle -- Earl Watson, PG, UCLA -- Extremely quick guard who wasn't ranked among the top point guards available. Will likely struggle to make the team.
41. Indiana -- Jamison Brewer, PG, Auburn -- Tall point guard who won the scouts over in Chicago; he has a long wingspan that could make him an awfully tough defender.
42. Seattle -- Bobby Simmons, SF, DePaul -- Another wing player for the Sonics, who already have Rashard Lewis, Vladimir Radmanovic and Ruben Patterson.
43. New York -- Eric Chenowith, C, Kansas -- Underachieved in college, but you can't teach height. Has little chance of making the Knicks
44. Dallas -- Kyle Hill, PG, Eastern Illinois -- Ultra quick penetrator who will have to work on his defense and perimeter shot to stick.
45. Chicago -- Sean Lampley, SF, California -- Has prototypical size for an NBA small forward; gets to return home to Chicago, where he was a high school star.
46. Minnesota -- Loren Woods, C, Arizona -- The draft's biggest demise finally ends, but it might be a blessing in disguise for Woods, who likely will make the team given Minnesota's woes in the middle.
47. Denver -- Ousmane Cisse, PF, St. Jude HS (Ala.) -- Only his leg injury kept him from being a first-round pick. Outperformed Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler in high school all-star games.
48. Vancouver -- Antonis Fotsis, SF, Panathinaikos (Greece) -- Put his name into the draft the last two seasons, only to pull out; shoots the ball very well for a guy his size (6-9).
49. Miami -- Ken Johnson, C, Ohio State -- The Big Ten's all-time leading shot blocker didn't perform well in workouts, hence his draft freefall; can potentially become a solid role player.
50. Portland -- Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, C, Georgetown -- Runs the floor well and has good size, but is still very raw despite four years of college; fits Blazers' need for height inside.
51. Phoenix -- Alton Ford, PF, Houston -- Prep star spent only one year in college and should have developed his terrific frame there; instead, he'll have to adapt on the fly and hope the Suns are patient.
52. Milwaukee -- Andre Hutson, PF, Michigan State -- Athletic warrior mioht be too small for the NBA, but he'll give it his all; held his own in pre-draft camps and knows how to win, reaching three Final Fours as a Spartan.
53. Utah -- Jarron Collins, PF, Stanford -- The "other" Collins twin isn't as athletic as his brother, but fights hard and is fundamentally sound, fitting the Utah mold.
54. Dallas -- Kenny Satterfield, PG, Cincinnati -- It's clear Howard Eisley's days in Dallas are done, what with the previous selection of Hill; looks like the Mavs are going to have a free-for-all to back up Steve Nash.
55. Sacramento -- Maurice Jeffers, SG, Saint Louis -- Rugged off guard who fights for every inch, getting the most of his average quickness and shooting ability.
56. San Antonio -- Robertas Javtokas, PF, Lietuvos Rytas (Lithuania) -- Incredible leaper gained notoriety in his native country by dunking a basketball on a rim that was nearly 12-feet high.
57. Philadelphia -- Alvin Jones, C, Georgia Tech -- Improved in each of his four seasons in Atlanta; enters the league as a noted shot-blocker, but doesn't possess many offensive skills.
58. San Antonio -- Bryan Bracey, SF, Oregon -- Former JUCO star was a Pac-10 standout last season and has plenty of offensive firepower. May eventually be the man that replaces Sean Elliott, who might retire.
