KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Andre Emmett scored 23 points and Texas Tech, revitalized in Bob Knight's first season as coach, held No. 14 Oklahoma State to a season-low points total and beat the Cowboys 73-51 Friday in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals.

The Red Raiders (23-7), who won only nine games last season, have two victories in the conference tourney -- double their total in the previous five years.

Knight now has a 3-2 career edge over Oklahoma State's Eddie Sutton in a series between coaches who have nearly 1,500 wins combined.

Texas Tech will meet No. 1 Kansas in the semifinals. The Jayhawks beat the Red Raiders 108-81 in the regular season. Full story

No. 1 Kansas 102, Colorado 73

Kirk Hinrich and Jeff Boschee got Kansas off to a quick start, and the No. 1 Jayhawks set a Big 12 Tournament scoring record in beating Colorado.

Kansas has won 27 straight games against Colorado.

Drew Gooden -- the Big 12's leading scorer, rebounder and its player of the year -- had just seven points at halftime but wound up with 18 for the Jayhawks (28-2), who have won 15 straight since losing to then-No. 11 UCLA on Jan. 12.

Boschee, the Big 12's career 3-point leader, was 5-of-8 from behind the arc and finished with 21 points. Hinrich had 18. The Jayhawks went 11-for-12 at the foul line.

No. 4 Oklahoma 63, Kansas State 52

Ebi Eri had 20 points and 11 rebounds as No. 4 Oklahoma overcame early turnovers and horrible shooting to beat Kansas State in the conference quarterfinals.

Aaron McGhee had 16 rebounds for the second-seeded Sooners, whose 54 rebounds were one short of the tournament record set by Texas in 2000.

Oklahoma's 54-30 advantage on the boards helped make up for 32-percent shooting (21-for-65) from the field and 12 first-half turnovers -- eight in the first 7½ minutes.

Oklahoma (25-4) committed just four turnovers in the second half.

Seventh-seeded Kansas State (13-16) led 25-24 at the half and 27-26 on Larry Reid's basket with 18:50 left, but the Sooners went ahead to stay with a 16-4 run -- capped by Jason Detrick's layup with 10:21 left -- for a 42-31 lead.

Nick Williams' 15 points led Kansas State.

Texas 89, Missouri 85

Brandon Mouton scored 19 points and freshman T.J. Ford had 10 assists as Texas beat Missouri in the Big 12 quarterfinals.

Deginald Erskin added 15 points and James Thomas recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Texas (20-10), which made the semifinals for the fourth straight year but has never won the tournament.

Kareem Rush hit five 3-pointers -- three of them in the final minute as Missouri cut Texas' 84-73 lead to 87-82 -- and led Missouri (21-11) with 33 points.

Clarence Gilbert, who hit eight 3-pointers and scored 26 points in Thursday's first-round win over Iowa State, was just 3-for-12 from long range on Friday and finished with 19 points for Missouri. His 320 career 3-pointers moved him two ahead of Kansas' Jeff Boschee in their duel for the Big 12 record.
