Our Mission

.

The 49ers Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the educational, social and cultural needs of our community. We offer unique resources and financial support to non-profit organizations working to enrich and strengthen communities throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Community Outreach

.

Just as the San Francisco Forty Niners take pride in their drive for victories, the 49ers Foundation takes great pride in playing an active role in Bay Area communities. The exceptional support received from our fans throughout the Bay Area is inspirational, and we embrace our responsibility to give back to the community. We are committed to be actively involved in programs that enhance the quality and well being of both youth and adults in our surrounding neighborhoods by offering numerous community programs, in-kind services and the personal involvement of our players, coaches and front office staff.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

How can we play a part in your community program?

It’s simple. If you are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and your organization is in need of assistance, you can call upon the 49ers Foundation. We ask that you send us a detailed proposal outlining your request and the manner in which the funds will be used. Whether you want to create a unique program or fund an existing program which focuses on the Arts, Education, Athletics or Health, the Foundation will consider your game plan.

Over the past few years, the 49ers Foundation has played a part in several different community outreach programs. Highlighted below are a few of our most recent outreach efforts:

  • Art as Education- An interactive partnership with local dance and theatre groups. Through these partnerships, we were able to send over 2000 students to performances of Coppelia, the Nutcracker, and Hansel and Gretal.
  • Bay Area All Star Scholarship Team (BAASST)- A partnership with local pro teams: Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks. This committee is the first of its kind in the realm of professional sports. Six successful high school seniors residing within the Bay Area’s nine counties are awarded scholarships for college. For information on the application process and deadlines, please call the 49ers Foundation.
  • D.A.R.E.- A partnership with the Los Altos Police Department, which benefits over 1,500 elementary school children. With our financial assistance, the L.A.P.D was able to customize a 49ers D.A.R.E. car, provide children with posters featuring 49ers players, "Rule Out Drugs" rulers, and a visit by a 49ers celebrity.
  • Make the Grade, Make the Team- An educational partnership with the San Jose Mercury News in Education group, which promotes literacy. The program reached approximately 3,500 5th – 8th grade students. Students who participated in the program used the newspaper to develop their academic skills, including critical thinking, social science, math, technology, language arts and literacy. Students received rewards, such as T-shirts, pencils and magnets based on their academic performance.
  • Read, Read, Read- An interactive campaign with schools and libraries to help promote reading and literacy to children and adults. Successful participants are rewarded with 49ers exclusive prizes.
  • The 49ers Academy- A partnership with Communities in Schools and the Ravenswood School District in East Palo Alto. The Academy serves at-risk youth and children in need of individualized attention not offered in a standard school setting. Through our annual financial support, the Academy is able to participate in additional educational and recreational activities.

Cause Marketing

.

What if you could accomplish several marketing and community outreach goals by sponsoring a high profile non-profit organization? It can be done.

By investing in a 49ers Foundation sponsorship, your company can fulfill many marketing, public relations, advertising and community outreach objectives, and the best part is that a portion of the expense is considered tax deductible.

To be a marketing success story and standout in today’s business environment, your marketing plan should be treated as if it were your last play of the game at the Super Bowl. It’s 3rd down, 20 yards to go and the clock is at :45 seconds. What do you do?

With a 49ers Foundation sponsorship, you can win with one well-executed play.

  • Affiliate your company with the San Francisco 49ers, one of the most prestigious teams in the NFL
  • Let us introduce you to our dynamic, well educated, affluent season ticket holders and fans and
  • Establish a season long presence
  • Entertain your clients at a private 49ers tailgate party and sold-out 49ers home game
  • Donate a portion of your sponsor dollars to a worthy Bay Area charity
  • We’ll write the check, but you’ll get the credit at a 49ers home game pre-game field presentation
  • Hand your accounting office a receipt documenting not only your sponsorship, but charitable contribution and tax-deduction

Let the 49ers Foundation tailor a package for you!

Grant Funding                                                                        Annual

.

The 49ers Foundation raises over $300,000 per year for distribution to local Bay Area charities and support of 49ers Foundation community outreach programs. If there’s a need, we can be the team member that makes a difference.
