This agile four-time All Gateway Conference performer is the biggest sleeper of this weak group of centers. He has a strong sturdy frame that has allowed him to dominate in the middle at his level of play. He is a fine technician who understands his assignments and carries them out flawlessly. He is quick off the snap and plays with leverage consistently. He is a savvy center with the ability to pick up reads quickly.
At the East-West practices, he performed well and showed the strength to handle big interior defenders in single blocking. He moved well with the quickness and power to trap effectively and block on the move. He showed the agility and footwork to pass protect with the strength to stop the bull rush consistently well.
He shows the ability to block on the pro level and has can fire out and get the linebacker. He’s worked hard to improve his strength and was among the strongest dozen linemen at the combine. He has the mobility to get outside and lead the sweep, though he has been rarely asked to perform that role. He adjusts well to situations, showing the smarts and awareness to pick up blitzers. Fine pivot man with the durability, toughness and agility needed to man the middle. He has the well-developed skills to start in the NFL and maybe early in his career. Excellent second day pick with the tools to be one of the late steals of the draft.
