The physical fifth-year senior completed a fine career in the Big East, finishing with 36 consecutive starts over the past three seasons. Baniewicz is a tall lineman who has played both sides on the offensive line after switching from tight end as a redshirt freshman. He opened his sophomore season at right tackle, but injuries to teammates forced him to move late in the season. He stayed at left tackle the remainder of his career, improving each season.

He has gotten bigger each season, adding more than 30 pounds to his large frame. He now has good upper body strength, with the agility to control an opponent and seal the hole. He has improved in pass protection getting better use of his long wingspan with experience.

He has decent footwork when he sets up and has learned to make better use of his hands. He sets up in a stiff posture, which makes it difficult to play with leverage. When he uses sound technique, he gets a good surge along the line, showing the ability to move an opponent out of the hole.

He looked good at Senior Bowl practices, using his functional strength to win many matchups. He shows the agility to move laterally and setup as a pass protector, but has some trouble with speed rushers. He handles the bull rush well getting good use of his improved strength. His lack of quickness will warrant a change back to the right side as a pro.

Although he has improved, he is not up to the task on the left side against the premier speed rushers in the NFL. He has made huge strides in recent years and is a player that cannot be discounted. He has the ability to start could evn see action at guard. Scrappy OL with tools but is not ready to play on Sundays. Good middle round selection with starting skills within a few seasons.
