Jason McKinley, Houston
Quarterback, 6-2, 215 Speed: 5.1, Rating: 60
Combine Numbers
He has been a dedicated athlete in both the weight room or with film work, which has allowed him to get the most out of his athletic ability. He has thrown for over 8,600 yards in his career with 46 TD passes, but has also thrown 47 interceptions. He is very accurate in the short and intermediate zones, but gets some air under the deep ball that has led to turnovers.
As a senior, he threw for 2,686 yards for 14 TDs and 13 picks with a 58-percent completion rate. He played well in the Blue-Gray and Hula Bowl all-star games, showing a nice touch on his passes and the ability to find secondary receivers. He should get selected late in this draft with the upside to challenge for a No.2 spot by his second or third season. He will have to prove something at that point to establish if he can ever challenge for a starting NFL job. Quality pocket passer with some upside if he improves his arm strength and footwork.
