TOKYO, Dec 5 (Reuters) - World champion Maria Butyrskaya
captured her third Grand Prix win of the season in Nagoya on
Sunday.
The Russian stumbled on three of the four triple jumps in
her technically-demanding free skating programme but was still
able to beat compatriot Viktoria Volchkova who landed a
beautiful triple flip and triple lutz.
"I made a lot of small mistakes today which might have been
due to jet lag in coming from Russia to Japan," said Butyrskaya,
whose performance allowed her to overtake Volchkova, the leader
after the short programme.
Tatyana Malinia of Uzbekistan took third place while Elena
Liashenko of Ukraine came in fourth.
