MIAMI (AP) Donnie Marsh, an assistant basketball coach at Virginia Tech the past three years, took over Florida International's program Wednesday.

Marsh, 44, replaces Marcos "Shakey" Rodriguez, who resigned last month after five seasons at Florida International.

"Donnie Marsh is a man of experience and integrity who is capable of taking our men's basketball program to the next level," said Paul D. Gallagher, Florida International's senior vice president for business and finance.
